Detecting Mold Damage Early: 5 Things to Look For

Mold in your home can be a nuisance. It's important to catch it early before it becomes a bigger problem. You will want to look for mold removal companies to remedy the issue. Here's how to identify signs of mold and what actions to take, focusing on practical advice and the expertise of SERVPRO® for professional mold removal.

5 Early Warning Signs of Mold

Microbial growth can be sneaky, but mold removal companies in Marlborough can help. There are clear signs that you may have a mold issue in your home, including:

  • Musty Odors: Persistent, earthy, or musty smells, especially in basements or other damp areas, are known indicators of mold presence.
  • Visible Growth: Suspicious spots or fuzzy growths on walls, ceilings, or other surfaces likely mean mold. Colors range from black and green to white and orange.
  • Water Damage: Look for water stains or discoloration on walls, ceilings, or floors. Peeling paint or wallpaper can also suggest moisture issues leading to mold.
  • Humidity Issues: High humidity makes homes feel stuffy and contributes to microbial growth. Window condensation is a telltale sign.
  • Recent Water Problems: If you've had any flooding, leaks, or other water issues recently, it's wise to inspect for mold, as water damage can create an ideal environment for spores to thrive.

Next Steps: Handling Mold in Your Home

If you notice any of the above signs, taking immediate action is crucial:

  1. Identify the Source: Find where the moisture is coming from and address it to prevent further mold growth.
  2. Isolation: If possible, keep the affected area sealed off from the rest of your home to avoid spreading.
  3. Cleanup for Minor Issues: Small areas of mold can sometimes be cleaned with household products. Ensure the area is well-ventilated during cleanup.
  4. Call Professionals: For more significant or persistent issues, it's best to contact a professional mold removal company. SERVPRO of Marlboro/Concord specializes in efficiently identifying and removing mold, ensuring your home is safe and clean.

Choosing SERVPRO of Marlboro/Concord means getting the best service in the area to tackle mold problems. If you are looking for mold removal companies in Marlborough, call us at (978) 369-8003.

Mold Damage Is One Reason Why People in Marlborough Call SERVPRO

Mold on Wall Don’t let mold damage overwhelm you, call the professionals at SERVPRO.

Our Fast Response Decreases Mold Damage's Severity

Our fast and local service keeps your aggravation low when dealing with mold in your Marlborough residence. Our customers rely on SERVPRO for our organized and comprehensive start-to-finish services. Mold damage starts small, and we can match it no matter how harshly it affects your property.

When mold damage affects Marlborough residences, we know structure and contents are all at risk. Many times, homes require rebuilding of damaged architecture after mold damage remediation. Some items require only a dusting off of any powdery mold. Other belongings could sustain so much damage that we recommend the customer replace the items.

Here are some of the ways our rapid response benefits our customers:

  • Our comprehensive experience and expertise
  • Our quick setup
  • Our speed while working

Knowing that an expert team is available to get things under control and cleaned up helps many homeowners refrain from starting a DIY project. It is recommended that homeowners only clean mold infestations when the area affected is less than ten square feet, which is smaller than the surface of many dining room tables. SERVPRO arrives with the necessary tools, equipment, and materials to expertly and efficiently handle the situation.

Another aspect of SERVPRO is our ability to set up fast without disturbing microbial infestations. Microbes spread through the release of spores. Whenever something disturbs a colony, it releases its viable spores. Microbes do this because passing animals (or humans) can transport such spores, depositing them in places with abundant food. Setting up fast means fewer spores escape.

We also work fast to advise you about items that are not salvageable or require extensive cleaning. We know you want to get everything back to normal again. We also assist in preventing mold infestations with humidity control and topical treatments.

SERVPRO Handles Mold Damage Cleanup in Marlborough with Care

For any homeowner, the thought of addressing or attempting to remove mold can be stressful and daunting. However, Marlborough residents should know there is no such thing as total removal regarding pesky black mold and other variants. Instead, you need professional mold cleanup and remediation services so that you can get safe, effective results. SERVPRO features IICRC-certified technicians with the tools, training, and protocols to clean your interior to make it “Like it never even happened.”

One of the best reasons for hiring SERVPRO to help with mold damage in Marlborough is that our team always talks you through the process. Whether we are looking for the source of water or moisture or beginning mold cleanup, we talk you through all steps so you are aware of our methods and reasons behind each action.

These are just a few of the things that set the SERVPRO crew apart from the rest:

  • Proper safety gear for addressing mold issues. We wear PPE such as gloves, filtration face masks, goggles, full bodysuits, and boots.
  • Our Green Fleet comes fully stocked with professional equipment, including air scrubbers, vacuums, and commercial-strength dehumidifiers. Our filtration equipment includes HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) technology.
  • We offer the full spectrum of mold remediation, including mold restoration following cleanup to handle any damage to materials and structural elements – performed by trusted partner contractors in the area.

What Do Mold Remediation and Restoration Mean?

We often get questions about mold cleanup and how we handle each project. These are some of the most frequently asked questions regarding our services and what you may expect:

  • Will I need mold testing? In many cases, no. If mold is visibly present, our team can get to work using the proper equipment and cleaning products to address all surfaces, materials, and belongings safely.
  • How long will the process take? While mold damage cleanup may cause household disruption, we strive to get your home back to normal as quickly as possible. Depending on the project, we could wrap everything up in as little as a few days.
  • Will my mold project be expensive? The cost for any mold project will depend on the size and scope of the job itself. Our team works to save our clients time and money with proven, efficient methods, and we continuously work to restore versus replace wherever possible.

Should there be any extensive damage to your building materials or structural elements, controlled demolition might be necessary to get the results you deserve. This may include removing and replacing carpets, carpet padding, subfloor, drywall, and other areas of your home impacted by mold colonization. The restoration may consist of minor repairs, including sealants, new drywall, painting, or carpet installation. Our contractors may need to work on reconstruction in different rooms to bring your property back to pre-mold condition for more involved projects.

Trust Our Odor Control Technicians (OCT)

Just as we would need to consider odors for a fire or water restoration project, the same goes for any mold call we receive. Our SERVPRO team includes Odor Control Technicians (OCT) who have been through IICRC courses on odor removal. We never take shortcuts or mask odors, so you can trust that we eliminate the odorous elements so that you can breathe freely in your property once again.

Why SERVPRO Uses Antimicrobial Agents After Mold Remediation in Concord

Ensuring that your home in Concord provides a healthy environment for your family can involve different tasks. Some require professionals who can offer more services. SERVPRO helps many families in the area restore normal microbial populations, helping eliminate the risk of damage and possible health effects.

Why SERVPRO helps so many families in Concord with mold remediation is to ensure that homes hold no unnecessary damage that could spread and grow. After we have finished all the steps, we can protect your home from future growth. All of the earlier aspects of remediation help make this last part more effective.

Wherever we find higher amounts of moisture with our infrared imaging cameras, we list these areas on a sheet. Using this sheet at the end of our work, we know where to apply our liquid antimicrobial agent. Depending on where these locations are in your home, we use either a sprayer or a brush/roller method.

This liquid dries relatively fast and does not allow water to penetrate surfaces. That might become counterproductive reasonably quickly. As we apply this to walls and other surfaces, any remaining mold, microbes, or spores become trapped in it, wholly encapsulated. As the antimicrobial agent dries, it shrinks and forms an impenetrable coating around not only the surface we apply it to but also around microscopic biological materials.

After drying, the surface looks untreated with no visible color changes or other alterations to the surface. We want to assure you that this treatment is of no risk to your children or pets once dry. When we work on homes in our area, we do so to protect those living here, just like we would do for our families.

SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord is always ready to assist with the latest technological advances in restoration work, which is why we always load our Green Fleet with the equipment your home needs. Mold remediation services are available to those in Carlisle, Roxborough, and Hudson by calling our 24-hour service line, (978) 486-9868.

Simple Approaches for Correcting Attic Mold Damage in Littleton

7/27/2022 (Permalink)

Mold Damage Finding mold in your attic can signify that the roof is leaking. Contact SERVPRO to assess and identify any potential causes and remediate the damage.

Team SERVPRO Offers Solutions for Recurring Problems During the Mold Remediation Process at a Home

Most homeowners do not know how to deal with mold damage in the attic area. When mold infestation is left unattended for an extended period, then it can cause adverse property damage and health effects. It is critical to deal with the problem the moment it is spotted in your Littleton home to avoid further contamination.

Attic mold damage in Littleton is common, and it is attributable to four primary causes: inadequate or improper attic ventilation, bathroom fans that are improperly exhausted, when enough roofing is not installed, or due to past or existing roof leaks. When our SERVPRO technicians are performing the remediation, we first provide for the health and safety of the occupants and our team. We also put in place measures to ensure that the mold does not spread to the clean areas of the building.

Our SERVPRO professionals also analyze the extent of contamination and the amount of moisture saturation. It makes it easy to identify the moisture sources and the areas to clean and fix. If we discover the blown-in insulation is heavily infested, we remove it and disinfect the attic and later on introduce new insulation. Disinfection of surfaces neutralizes fungi and bacteria and minimizes the chances of future mold growth problems.

The tiny mold spores usually settle on surfaces during the mold removal and cleanup procedures. We have to perform HEPA vacuuming to capture both the settling spores and dust. Our SERVPRO technicians also perform damp wiping of all soiled surfaces using detergents. We have extensive training and years of experience dealing with mold and getting to the hard-to-clean areas that can be very challenging. The crucial final step is correcting the moisture problem that initially contributed to the mold growth.

SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord is a local-based company with the equipment and experience to help you deal with mold damage on your property. Call us at (978) 486-9868 and work with highly experienced technicians who provide 24-hour emergency services.

SERVPRO Equipment Revitalizes Fire-Damaged Homes

Marlborough homeowners may be overwhelmed by how soot covers surfaces, even in small fires. These residues require specialized care to prevent soot from potentially corroding metals. Trained professionals can also implement strategies to remove fire odors more thoroughly than consumer-grade solutions while minimizing the risk of soot particles spreading to other home areas during remediation.

Certified SERVPRO fire restoration technicians remediate Marlborough disasters and return homes to clean, pre-disaster states. These processes are performed based on Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) guidelines. They can include microbial cleanup and water removal where needed after fire suppression.

Professional Restoration Equipment Increases Fire Restoration Success.

SERVPRO fire restoration, cleanup tools, and proprietary solutions address a diverse array of soot and smoke damage-related concerns, such as:

  • Lighter, dry soot deposits are addressed before heavier soils with dry cleaning sponges, mild detergents, manual cleaning, and dislodging of debris.
  • Moderate to heavy soot, "wet" smoke damage, and charring can be remediated with alkaline solutions, ultrasonic cleaning, and soda ash or dry ice blasting.
  • Protein residues from burnt meats in kitchen fires leave behind pungent, greasy soils, which technicians can remove with enzyme digesters.
  • Odor control tools like thermal foggers eliminate soot-related malodors by chemically binding with smoke particles to eliminate associated smells.

If the property is wet from fire suppression, SERVPRO technicians can deploy drying equipment and implement necessary demolition tasks to save the structure and prepare it for rebuilding. Crew members can also take care of build-back tasks like hanging new drywall, carpet installation, tile floor repair, and repainting.

The Best Approach to Address Mold in the Attic at a Marlborough Home

1/17/2022 (Permalink)

Got mold? Mold remediation for your home is no DIY project. SERVPRO techs use the latest technology and equipment for every size disaster.

SERVPRO Can Help You with Protective and Restorative Solutions against Mold Damage

The development of mold in the attic is challenging compared to other house sections. Removing it isn't easy, and in many cases, it can remain hidden for a long time. For many people, the discovery of mold contamination only comes when doing something else, such as spring cleaning, which increases the inconvenience.

With the right plan, you can avoid many of the inconveniences that mold in the attic of your Marlborough home can present. For instance, instead of accidental discovery, you can schedule annual checkups ensuring that you do not have to stop other activities to address the problem. SERVPRO provides certified Applied Microbial Remediation Technicians who can help perform such inspections non-intrusively. You can also check for signs that indicate attic mold at any time.

Simple signs of trouble in the attic include:

  • A hot and stuffy attic
  • Black discoloration of wood in the attic
  • Wet attic insulation
  • Water dripping from ceiling fixtures like light and fans

Restoration should address the existing contamination and find long-term solutions for the causes. For example, insufficient ventilation is a common cause of mold in attics. The most likely reason is blocked soffit vents. Moisture from minor roof leaks can also wreak havoc if it goes unaddressed. Our SERVPRO crews can identify these issues during an annual inspection or when addressing existing mold.

Most of the surfaces in an attic are covered with porous materials like unfinished wood and insulation, which increase the remediation challenge. Removing all contaminated insulation is a crucial step. Our SERVPRO technicians can handle removal easily since we have large insulation vacuums. Cleaning unfinished wood is challenging, especially since you cannot use water. One effective solution for this is blast cleaning with soda or dry ice.

SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord readily provides solutions that address mold in the attic, "Like it never even happened." Call us at (978) 486-9868.

What Companies Can Help me with Water Removal Services During the Winter in Marlborough?

SERVPRO equipment at work in kitchen Storm and flood damage restoration services by SERVPRO are second to none. Call now for fast and immediate service.

SERVPRO Can Conduct Water Damage Repairs in Marlborough During All Seasons

In the wintertime, cold temperatures and snowstorms can create issues that could cause water to leak into the interior of your home. For example, an ice dam could cause your roof to leak, or frozen pipes could break and cause moisture to pour into your house. However, if you can notice either of the incidents occurring right away, you might be able to minimize the extent of the damage caused.

Whenever your home in Marlborough suffers from frozen pipes and ice damming, the longer the issues go untreated, the worse the damage can become. When the weather is cold or a snowstorm has just struck, it is a good idea to check your roof and inspect your water lines for freezing. If you notice that water isn't draining off of your roof, or you find some section of water pipes that seem cold, there are some things you can do to prevent severe damage.

One way you can tell if an ice dam has formed on your roof is if you see a lot of icicles forming in one spot of your roof. If you notice a significant amount of ice forming around your gutters, it is a wise idea to put a fan in your attic and blow cold air towards the leak. The air will freeze the water in its place so that the leaking stops.

If you find a section of your pipes that seem frozen, you can take a hairdryer to heat the cooler areas. If the frozen section is large, you can set up a space heater to heat the areas around the frozen pipes.

If you still have a leak despite your prevention efforts, SERVPRO can help. Our highly trained team can provide fast, 24/7 service and assist you with the following:

  • Black Mold Inspections
  • Applied Structural Drying (ASD)
  • Water Extraction
  • Water Damage Repairs

If you notice a crack while heating up frozen pipes, call SERVPRO of Marlboro & Concord at (978) 540-8298.

What Happens When Floor Drains Fail in Your Concord Basement?

11/5/2021 (Permalink)

Here to Help SERVPRO IICRC certified techs have the training and experience in all phases of storm damage mitigation. 24/7 365 days a year we are here for you.

Flooding Can Become a Substantial Threat When The Water Cannot Get Sufficiently Drained From The Property.

Basement flooding has been a common problem for the Concord area for generations. As many potential solutions exist to waterproof basements and prevent further exposure of these subterranean levels, hydrostatic pressure and other forces can still permit water penetration under the right conditions. Water diversion equipment and fixtures like floor drains are vital to reducing the probability of standing water in this lower level of the property.

When these floor drains and diversion tactics become clogged or blocked, flood damage in Concord homes becomes inevitable. Natural flooding can introduce multiple types of debris and solids to your house, making the blockage of floor drains more likely than you might think. Once this grating becomes covered, water can begin pooling based on the severity of the house's flooding conditions. The solution is to pursue effective flood removal solutions that can also address circulating debris and solids in this standing water, such as:

Should I Evaluate if Water Diversion and Removal Tactics Are Working?

While your methods of moving water from your basement level might be useful for the past several decades, changing conditions and the degradation of the property itself might require a more direct approach to relocating penetrating floodwater. If drains are not working as they should, you might consider installing a sump pump and the grading of your basement floor or installing pipe and trenches to direct water to this constructed pump pit.

Flooding can sometimes happen without much warning and overwhelm water diversion pathways installed in the lower levels of your property as the floor drains. Our SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord team can help with both the restoration of this damage to your house and long-term solutions to more effectively prevent flooding in the future. Give us a call today at (978) 486-9868.

What SERVPRO Can Teach You About Fire Damage Restoration In Marlborough

9/19/2021 (Permalink)

SERVPRO fire sign SERVPRO has experienced technicians when it comes to fire damage restoration for your property. You never know what situations occur during a fire.

Steps For Effective Restoration Of Fire Damage In Marlborough

Adequately organized restoration efforts can reverse the effects of fire damage on your property. Fires cause a range of damages and may create conditions for other elements to harm the property further. For instance, when a fire causes a section of the roof to cave in, further losses are likely to occur should it rain before fixing this issue. Restoring damage to your Marlborough property, therefore, requires a multipronged approach. We offer professional restoration services that tackle different aspects simultaneously.

Before the restoration of fire damage in Marlborough starts, it is necessary to evaluate the extent to which the property is affected. Each blaze is usually unique, and therefore it is impossible to tell what is required in a case before evaluating it. The evaluation helps establish how far the smoke reached or how far soot traveled, among other things. There are many hazards in a burnt property, including toxic residues, broken items, and if the fire was very severe, some parts of the structure might be unstable. The person doing the evaluation must take proper precautions. Our SERVPRO team is well equipped with protective gear to handle such a process safely.

House Fire Clean Up

Cleanup is necessary when a fire affects your property. Fires leave many residues, including scorched items, discolored surfaces, and residues on different sections of the property. The air might also be filled with aerosols. These remains must be removed from the property to restore it to preloss conditions. Our SERVPRO technicians can either vacuum or dissolve some of the residues for easier removal. Vacuuming is useful for dry particles loosely attached to surfaces. To remove residues attached to surfaces, we dissolve them in water or other solvents.

Renovating the affected property is an integral part of the restoration. Some of the items destroyed by the blaze can be salvaged through refinishing. For instance, upholstery items might require new covers, while walls can use a fresh coat of paint. When the process is over, a consultation session to find out ways that can prevent future blazes is essential. Based on the evaluations we do, our SERVPRO technicians can make useful suggestions.

The damages caused by fires are easier to address by following the right steps. Contact SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord at (978) 486-9868 to assist. We’re Faster To Any Size Disaster.

Using The Right Services To Combat Mold Damage In Your Marlborough Area Home

Mold thrives in moist environments, basically anywhere in your home with excessive moisture, humidity, or water leaks. Indoor mold colonies cause damage to surfaces they grow on, including walls, ceilings, floors, carpeting, furniture, drapes, and any other organic materials.

Luckily there are quite a few steps for homeowners in Marlborough to reduce the amount of mold damage that occurs on their property. If you have already let things get out of control, contact a mold remediation expert, like SERVPRO, today. We can help you rid your living environment of this type of nuisance and teach you how to prevent growth in the future.

Knowledge is a great tool to battle mold growth in your home. Learning more about what mold is, how it acts, and which environments it can survive can help prevent exposure to any risks involved. SERVPRO technicians thoroughly explain what is happening in your home and keep you informed throughout the remediation process.

Molds are fungi that are naturally occurring recyclers of organic materials within our environment, often helping decaying materials absorb back into our ecosystem. However, because molds take very little to survive if given the right conditions, they can invade your home and expose you to threats that can cause severe cosmetic and structural problems over time.

Equipment for Mold Removal

SERVPRO technicians provide the tools necessary to locate, control, and confine mold from spreading throughout your home. Using infrared cameras, thermal hygrometers, and moisture sensors for detection is needed. Water extractors, advanced drying equipment, and antifungal agents can reach cool, dark, humid areas of your home where mold often grows to eradicate and complete the remediation.

Do-it-yourselfers are often limited by what they can accomplish, leaving areas larger than 10-square feet more than they can easily handle independently. A store-bought wet-dry vac and household cleaners often fail to do the job, adding moisture to the area, allowing mold to spread even further. This only aggravates an already difficult situation.

Avoid taking the risk of providing half-solutions to your problem; contact SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord today. We can provide you with the IICRC certified technicians necessary to get mold growth in your home under control fast. (978) 486-9868

SERVPRO’s mold remediation specialist knows how to determine what can and cannot be cleaned

When mold is discovered, it needs to be dealt with quickly. It can spread rapidly throughout a home, damaging surface material and content. The technique used to remove mold depends on the type of material where the growth has developed.

Removing Mold Contamination

Mold remediation in Marlborough requires understanding the different kinds of surface materials and applying the correct cleaning method. Non-porous material usually can be cleaned, while porous material with visible mold must be discarded. Mold removal involves:

  • Removing porous material that is extensively contaminated. This includes things such as drywall, fabric, and carpeting. It is the only way to stop the spread.
  • Non-porous material that is dry and has mold can be cleaned using a HEPA vacuum. Damp wiping with detergent is done if there are layers of mold.
  • HEPA vacuuming to remove loose mold and then using agitation methods to loosen the mold further. Semi-porous material, such as wood and concrete, often needs this type of cleaning.

SERVPRO technicians are certified mold remediation experts. With AMRT applied microbial remediation training, you can be confident in our performance at your property. We know how to assess the building and determine what methods are best to contain and remove the mold.

SERVPRO provides water restoration to Marlborough residents to mitigate damage homeowners may miss

Like many New England towns, Marlborough has a history that dates back to pre-colonial days. It became a town in 1660 and was one of the earliest towns in the United States. It was very prosperous during the Industrial Age and is now a bustling city thanks to the high-tech industry.

The Early Years of Marlborough

In the 1600s, fur trading, new settlements, and Native American tribes were a way of life. John Howe built a home where two Indian trails crossed in 1656. As a fur trader, he was welcomed. He spoke the language of the Algonquin tribes. This was the start of settlements in the area. The Pennacook Indians were glad to see the European settlers as they protected them from hostile tribes. Significant events in the 1600s included:

  • Several families from Sudbury started a new town in the 1650s.
  • Marlborough was incorporated as a town in 1660.
  • It is one of seven towns known as “Praying Indian Towns.”
  • During King Philip’s War in 1676, the town was almost destroyed by Indians.

The Colonies Grow, and So Does Marlborough

During the 1700s, the town’s territory expanded. More settlers were coming to the area, and business and travel spread rapidly. Marlborough was along the Boston Post Road and was a much-liked rest stop. Its taverns and inns were quite popular and included famous visitors such as George Washington in 1789, after his inauguration.

Shoes Change the Community

Samuel Boyd, considered the “father of the city, opened a shoe manufacturing store with his brother in 1836. This lone business would impact the community in a way they could never have imagined. By 1890, the city was a major center for shoe manufacturing. The store provided shoes for civilians and boots for the Union Soldiers. When the town was incorporated as a city in 1890, so significant was this business that a shoebox, boots, and a factory are depicted on the official seal.

A Growing Industrial City

Streetcar systems expanded travel and allowed businesses to flourish. Marlborough is thought to be the first city to acquire a charter for such a system. Baltimore would be the second by just a few months. Shoe manufacturing was still a primary industry at this time, and other skilled craftsmen were coming to the area from all over the world.

A Strong Business Community

Marlborough continues to thrive, with Hewlett-Packard, Boston Scientific, and many other businesses providing a stable economic base. It is a lovely town with parks, restaurants, and theaters that locals and visitors alike can take advantage of year-round.

How Can Mold Form in Your Marlborough Attic?

10/26/2020 (Permalink)

mold growing in the corner of the room Removing mold from your attic is a hard job to do alone. Contact SERVPRO 24/7 for professional remediation and mitigation services.

Damp attic spaces are not uncommon for Marlborough homes, so our technicians have the appropriate tools and techniques for addressing water and mold growth in these areas.

The development of mold colonies in Marlborough homes might be more common than property owners believe. With the humid continental climate of the area, moist conditions can leave structures susceptible year-round. In low traffic areas of your house, such as the basement or attic, you might not recognize a threat right away.

Mold removal for attics in Marlborough homes can be necessary without a homeowner knowing it. Damage to the house's exterior can often be among the largest contributors to elevated moisture or water damage in this upper space. When the attic is unfinished, you might not notice pressing concerns like water damage when you do not regularly inspect these areas. Some of the common causes of attic water/flood damage include:

  • Ice Damming – When ice forms around the edges of the roof, snow melt has nowhere to go but back underneath shingles and roofing materials. Inevitably, this moisture and water find its way inside.
  • Storm Damages – Because the area can be a wildcard with severe weather and violent storms, roofs can take substantial damage by wind, rain, hail, and snow.
  • High Humidity – Humid conditions exist throughout the house without regulatory practices like dehumidification. Within 48 hours, these moist areas can promote growth.

How Can SERVPRO Remove Active Colonization?

Remediation can be a complicated procedure that varies from one house to the next. Choosing the appropriate response for your structure and damaged materials can save customers time and money on the work getting done. Some of our remediation practices include:

  • Surface Cleaning
  • Sanding
  • Soda Blasting
  • Demolition and Rebuilding

Mold can be a hazardous situation for your home. Our SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord team can help with efficient attic mold remediation solutions. Give us a call today at (978) 486-9868.

What Should I Do If I Find Mold In the Attic Of My Marlborough Home?

5/12/2020 (Permalink)

Mold on a cream colored wall. Marlborough Mold Remediation and Cleaning It Up

Call SERVPRO for Mold Remediation.

Mold in your attic is a problem that requires immediate remediation because if it is left unchecked, it can quickly spread to other areas of your home, and might also cause damage to the structure of your attic and any items that are stored there. Fungus likes damp environments, and an attic often provides just such an environment and might even become a rich breeding ground for more mold.

You might be wondering what to do if you find mold in the attic of your Marlborough home, or even how to tell if you have fungus growing there. Finding out whether you have mold is usually quite easy: Look for telltale patches of black or greenish discoloration and also take note of any moldy or musty smells.

Now you are sure you have mold, or at least strongly suspect that you do, it is time to call SERVPRO. We train our IICRC-certified technicians in all aspects of remediation. We start with asking some simple questions to get a clear picture of your situation and then we send out a fully equipped team to assess your attic and decide on the best course of action.

Is there anything you can do while you wait for our professional team to arrive? The answer is yes; there are some things you can do. If there is an obvious source of water or damp that you can remove safely, please do so. We recommend keeping the affected area dry. If you happen to have an HVAC system or fans running in your attic, turn those off too as they might help spread spores to other areas of your home.

If it is safe for you to remove porous materials you may do so, as porous materials also present a spreading risk; however please only carry out removal if you have protective equipment on hand to wear. Removal must be conducted slowly to avoid agitating the spores and causing further spreading – if in doubt do not do it.

SERVPRO recommends that you avoid touching or trying to spray or clean the mold and that you do not attempt to paint over affected areas.

Stay out of your attic until we arrive to assist you. Our experienced technicians come prepared to set up containment to prevent mold spreading to other parts of your home, and we use negative air machines to vent contaminated air outside your house. We also use a range of cleaning protocols including HEPA vacuuming, scrubbing, abrasion, and immersion to clean salvageable items and remediate mold growth on walls, floors or ceilings.

Do not ignore a mold problem in the attic of your home. Call SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord at (978) 486-9868 for help.

Yes, SERVPRO Professionally Removes Water and Remediates Mold Damage in the Concord Area.

Vacationing up north is always a fun idea for the summer, especially when you have a house to visit. However, things didn’t go as planned for this tenant in Concord, Massachusetts when visiting her vacation home.

A neighbor next to her condo had noticed spongy carpets in the hallway entrance to the apartment building. The neighbor had notified the office, and the property manager called the owner of the building right away. The owner, who had been living in Colorado, got the news that their Concord unit had sustained mold and water damage created by the water heater. He was very shocked by this news, because he had owned this property since 2008, and never had this problem before. The owner left his Colorado home to check on the scene and decided what steps he needed to take next. Because the tenant had been away on vacation, mold had spread throughout the residence. Apparently, the mold had been growing and water dripping for about a month before anyone noticed the leakage.

The owner immediately called his insurance company who recommended SERVPRO for water and mold restoration services. We excel at remediating the mold and extracting the water from the affected areas. There was substantial mold found in the boiler room closet as well as the baseboards of the family room and kitchen cabinets. The water damaged carpet in the condo was not able to be saved due to the length of time the carpet had been wet and the extent of the mold damage. The crew arranged for the contents to be removed from the area to prevent further mold proliferation.

SERVPRO first removed the affected carpet that was soaking wet from the water damage. The technicians used powerful equipment to initially lift and remove most of the water. They then used advanced equipment to contain the area with the mold and to extract the water. The crew then set up containment around the affected areas using thick 6 mil poly sheeting and poles so that the mold could not spread any further. This is a vital step in the mold remediation process to limit the damage. Next, the crew used air scrubbers for air purification and dehumidifiers to remove residual moisture to dry the areas fully. Our technicians applied an antimicrobial product to all the affected areas. Selective deconstruction was done, removing the drywall four feet off the floor.

The property owner came and examined the property and stated that SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord was the right company to call. We are available 24 hours 7 days a week to restore your investment property to its pre loss condition, "Like it never even happened." (978) 486-9868

Water Cleanup when Faulty Appliances Threaten your Marlborough Home

An old washing machine can begin to show signs of its age and start to become more troublesome than it is worth. Over the years, vital connections and drainage systems in your washing machine begin to buildup limescale, soiling, or molds. Equally, water hoses may to crack or suffer from loose connections. While it is common for homeowners to wait until a machine breaks before seeking out a replacement, these breakages can be damaging to your washing room.

When a hose splits in an appliance, the valve providing water remains on, and you may find that you need professional water cleanup services in Marlborough to reverse the damages. Despite coming from a clean water supply, SERVPRO often finds faulty appliances that can cause greywater damages. These contamination levels occur because of microbial fungi that buildups up inside the machine over several years. When the machine ceases to function, greywater can spill into the home environment.

Greywater emergencies are generally restorable to excellent condition. Levels of contamination in greywater may cause unpleasant odors or increase the microbial growth risk. However, they do not pose a direct threat to your health. Often replacing a faulty appliance and restoring the affected area requires heavy lifting as well as technical expertise for the damage left behind. SERVPRO water restoration technicians are capable of removing, and disposing of, large appliances in the home and have qualifications from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certifications (IICRC.)

Once the offending device is taken off-site to a waste facility and the water shutoff at source, the remaining task is to reverse the existing damage. Using light-water extractors, our team of technicians at SERVPRO can remove the offending moisture and thoroughly disinfect the area. By purifying the area, we can destroy any micro-organisms remaining in the area. Following that, SERVPRO can treat the affected area with anti-microbial chemicals to prevent microbes from building up.

Our Professionals Discuss Taking Protective Steps After Water Loss In Marlborough

12/8/2019 (Permalink)

water damage in home We offer a comprehensive approach to restoring and recovering your home after a burst pipe water loss.

Taking Protective Steps After Water Loss in Marlborough Homes

Burst pipes can create catastrophic damages for Marlborough homes. While dozens of situations can lead to these disastrous circumstances, the most common of these is the freezing of portions of plumbing during the winter months. It does not matter what type of material makes up the pipes of your plumbing network or even if insulation exists, as conditions for freezing and bursting pipes can still get met.

Because of how quickly these situations can get out of control, our SERVPRO professionals must begin drying water from burst pipes in Marlborough homes immediately upon arrival. We have rapid drying solutions that can begin after extraction has completed. We make the restoration of your property as cost-effective and efficient as possible, offering a broad inventory of premier recovery tools and equipment to gain control of pooling water and immediately transition to drying surface moisture and absorbed water from construction materials.

Much of your plumbing is built into the walls of your home and otherwise inaccessible to homeowners. When separation or severe leaking occurs within these spaces, the only suitable solutions to repair the damage to the utilities and to thoroughly dry and extract this affected point is through controlled demolition and flood cuts. Removing portions of damaged ceiling tile, drywall, and other materials can allow for direct access to repair compromised plumbing and to effectively dry out the damaged region surrounding the breach.

Once drying has completed, it is vital for homeowners to thoroughly examine their plumbing for any vulnerabilities in insulation, wear on the pipe, or other possible threats. Staying ahead of compromised plumbing can reduce the likelihood of contending with widespread internal flooding when these pipes burst and unload their contents steadily until the supply line gets shut down. Our experienced general contractors can help with this inspection and necessary repairs if you need them.

We offer a comprehensive approach to restoring and recovering your home after a burst pipe water loss. You can count on the experience and equipment available to our SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord team to help however you need. Call us today at (978) 486-9868.

Marlborough Residents Often Call Upon SERVPRO for Winter Water Damage Restoration for Their Properties

11/20/2019 (Permalink)

ceiling water stained and sagging from frozen pipes inside crawlspace Marlborough Winter Means Frozen Pipes--SERVPRO Suggests to Be Prepared!

How to Recover from a Burst Pipe Water Loss in Marlborough Homes

Frozen pipes might not be new or surprising to many Marlborough residents. From freezing that can occur at your water meter itself to the plumbing inside of your home, this common occurrence can have disastrous results under the right circumstances. While often the pipes need to get thawed to begin working appropriately again, some homes have the misfortune of contending with ruptured lines.

Water damage in Marlborough from freezing water inside of the lines can sometimes result in burst pipes, as the expanding, solidifying water inside allows for a steep increase in pressure. In scenarios where damming has fully occurred, and no water can pass through the system at all, the pressure can become too much for aging pipes in your home to contain. A burst pipe can unload hundreds of gallons of water at the break site before a shutoff valve can get reached. Because of the severity of this situation, choosing professionals like our SERVPRO team is advisable.

After water pipes have burst, we can mobilize quickly to begin efficient extraction. Because of this being a clean water incident, even though a Class 3 or 4 in severity, there are many exposed materials and surfaces that can get restored in-house. In many cases, direct drying with centrifugal air movers and warming with portable electric heaters can quickly impact the work area, helping to draw moisture from materials more efficiently.

While an assessment of the insulation of portions of pipe must get addressed by the property owner moving forward to prevent recurrences, our SERVPRO team on-site can help to thaw out exposed plumbing that might still be at risk. Our team of general contractors, licensed through the state of Massachusetts, can help with any structural concerns or plumbing repairs that to make this loss incident “Like it never even happened.”

During the coldest months of the year, many homes throughout New England can battle steep temperature drops and extreme conditions. Under-insulated plumbing can be a costly and damaging situation when cold snaps allow these portions of pipe to freeze and burst. However, we can help, give our SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord team a call today at (978) 486-9868.

Diesel powered, towed in Green SERVPRO GENERATOR SERVPRO "Generates" The Power for Successful Basement Drying in All of Marlborough! We Have the Pumps and the Power Source When You Don't!

Why Marlborough Residents Use SERVPRO to Restore Wet Basements

Wet Basement Marlborough
Basements are generally at a higher risk of sustaining damage than other areas of your home. Poor insulation can be a contributing factor. Besides, a basement's positioning as a below ground level space alongside malfunctioning equipment, such as sump pumps, can cause a problem for any homeowner. It is vital to take decisive action if you should discover moisture in your basement. These issues can quickly deteriorate into mold, rot, or contamination in the lower levels of your home.

As an established local provider of restoration services, we can help you with a Wet Basement incident in your Marlborough home. SERVPRO uses qualified water restoration technicians (WRT) as well as specialists with certification in applied structural drying (ASD) and molds remediation technicians. Our qualifications are given by the nationally recognized Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certifications (IICRC) body.

One of the challenges facing a SERVPRO WRT is the lack of open-air ventilation in subterranean regions of the home. This challenge means that your technician needs to apply a closed-system drying method. Closed system drying methods involve creating artificial are movement, encouraging evaporation, and dehumidifiers to remove evaporated moisture from the surrounding air.

Proper drying techniques are among the most effective at controlling microbial growth issues. These techniques can also tackle stubborn unpleasant odors, which can be more noticeable in wet or humid conditions. In situations where water odors remain after the cleaning and drying process is complete, SERVPRO technicians can deploy odor restoration equipment.

Controlling odor works best when the method of dispersal mirrors that of the cause of the odor. In a situation where water has led to unpleasant odors, SERVPRO initially uses spray-on or liquid deodorants. We can also place masking pellets or, in some cases, used water-based ultra-low volume fogging equipment. Using a combination of drying, cleaning, and deodorizing methods, we can be confident of restoring your lower levels to their preloss condition.

If you notice a water emergency in the lower levels of your home, contact SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord immediately at (978) 486-9868.

How SERVPRO Dries Basements in Concord

10/2/2019 (Permalink)

water damaged basement; SERVPRO drying equipment removing being used to remove water Many homes experience water damage in their basement. SERVPRO has the know-how to dry your basement quickly.

Potential Problems with Your Wet Basement in Concord

The fall season is almost here, and the temperatures in the Concord area will most likely start to drop soon. Once it starts to get cold at night, pipes can break, which can leave you with a wet basement. Many houses have water pipes running in the floor between the main level and your basement. If one of these pipes develops even the smallest leak, water can pour into your basement from the ceiling.

Once moisture starts to leak from above, the building materials and contents inside your wet basement in Concord can become damaged. When the ceiling tiles or drywall making up your ceiling get saturated, their structural integrity can become compromised. In some cases, water can fill up the ceiling cavity, and the weight of the liquid can cause the ceiling tiles to break. Once the water breaks the ceilings seal from the house's main level other building materials, including your walls and flooring materials, can get wet.

When water starts to fill up inside your basement, it is best to call in a professional restoration company such as SERVPRO. Our technicians are highly trained and certified by the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification program. We have the knowledge and experience to determine the best plan of attack for your unique situation.

When dealing with moisture-related issues, our SERVPRO technicians know that getting the water extracted and dried up promptly is vital. Problems can get much worse if items in your home remain wet for too long. We provide fast 24/7 service so that we can begin restoring your house immediately after receiving your emergency call.

Once we get your permission to begin restoration procedures, we inspect the damage to figure out the best way to accomplish rapid structural drying. We have at our disposal advanced technology that can help us identify and mitigate moisture problems of all types. For example, if your carpet gets wet, we can use a heavy-duty extractor to compress your carpet and pull water from it.

If a plumbing failure ever causes your basement in Carlisle, Hudson, Acton, or Maynard to flood, call SERVPRO of Marlborough / Concord at (978) 486-9868. Located in the area, and the rumor has it that We're Faster To Any Size Disaster.

Marlboro Cellars and Basements Damp or Wet? Call SERVPRO for Solutions

Long Term Basement Drying Solutions in Marlborough

Wet basements and cellar areas encompass a large portion of the work that our professionals do for Marlborough residences. Through both flooding situations and hydrostatic pressure of groundwater on vulnerable blockwork, dampness and moisture are a nearly constant battle for some homeowners in the area. Our experience and training in this niche of the restoration industry have helped us to provide and develop long-term solutions for chronic dampness situations prevalent in our service region.

While the priority that property owners have in these situations is wet basement drying for Marlborough homes, there are more steps and preventative measures that can get taken to ensure that the cleanup and drying in this recovery is a more permanent situation. Our SERVPRO professionals can help to provide your home with long-term dryness when possible through multiple approaches that get decided based on the needs of your house and how water losses are affecting it.

Patching
One of the first solutions that we often work to employ when possible is patching the points of penetration with hydraulic cement. This compound can get applied when water is still leeching through these vulnerable points, making it a sound strategy to reduce moisture and dampness in your basement. Our careful evaluation with moisture meters can identify the points of penetration to ensure that all of these areas get sealed up appropriately.

Sump Pump
Sump pumps can help to divert water away from your basement floors. These units can get attached directly into a French drain system that can move the water flow around the house away from the basement. Concrete flooring inside the basement area can also get regraded to divert any potential standing water to this discharge point.

Dehumidification
Another option is the installation of a dehumidifier. Our SERVPRO professionals can show you the relative humidity (RH) level in the basement and how a permanent dehumidification unit can keep these levels within acceptable parameters and prevent secondary effects like microbial growth.

Wet basements might be a standard callout for our SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord team, but we approach each of these situations as unique threats that require a custom solution specific to your property. Rely on our professionals to make these loss incidents "Like it never even happened." Give us a call today at (978) 486-9868.

Minimizing the Impact of Property Damages on your Everyday Life with SERVPRO of Marlborough

8/23/2019 (Permalink)

A SERVPRO Marlboro / Concord van on the street in front of a home. Let SERVPRO show you how to minimize the everyday life issues in your Marlborough community.

We will show you Why we are the best for all your issues in Marlborough.

Property damages can feel overwhelming. Especially when there are numerous affected areas. It can be difficult to know where to start. Our restoration services incorporate fire, water, storm, and mold-related damages. When an issue goes beyond our scope- remodeling or architecture, for example- we can bring in third-parties on your behalf to repair or reconstruct parts of your Marlborough home. Only having to deal with one point of contact from start to finish allows you to get on with your everyday life while getting your property back under control.

 Storm

Our emergency response units for storm damage in Marlborough work around the clock so that when disaster strikes, we can arrive quickly to begin mitigating losses. Restoring power to a property after flooding, or bringing in our generators to provide power, can be vital after severe storms when remodeling work is required on your home. Ultimately, the sooner a property is deemed safe, the sooner third-party contractors can begin repairing the damage.

To classify a property as safe to enter, a SERVPRO has to perform several scoping checks in your Marlborough home. These can include checking for waterlogged floors or ceilings as well as assessing contamination levels in flood waters. Infectious waste presents a human health hazard, meaning that the affected area must be thoroughly disinfected by a restorer before any other persons can enter, including the homeowner.

When structures are impacted by high winds or flood waters, the chances of sustaining permanent losses increases. SERVPRO restorers can perform vital mitigation tasks to prevent these losses from occurring. Among them, emergency drying of wooden flooring to prevent warping or buckling, or draining subfloors using extraction units, which may have taken on large quantities of water during the flood. These time-sensitive tasks can be essential to avoiding mold growth, structural collapse, or otherwise irreversible damages.

 Fire

In severe property fires, where the structure itself has combusted, you may need to relocate to a temporary location so that restoration services can be carried out efficiently. Typically, severe fire damage in your Marlborough residence requires move-out services. Move-outs, or pack-outs, involve a SERVPRO restorer carefully inventorying contents, content condition, and specialized cleaning requirements before removing your possessions to a Marlborough-based storage facility while work is carried out. These inventories can be passed on to your insurance adjuster when making your claim to reduce paperwork during what is an undoubtedly stressful time.

SERVPRO digitally record your possessions in a contents claim inventory that can be passed on to your insurance adjuster. Once the removal of contents is complete, restorers can work alongside general contractors to bring your home back to a preloss condition. One of the key benefits of using pack-out services is that it provides us with unrestricted access to walls, cavities, fittings, and structure, which usually results in a time efficient restoration service.

Returning clean contents to the structure and cleaning the structure itself can make your house feel like a home again. However, stubborn smoke odors can often linger in the property long after restoration of the damage. SERVPRO endeavor to remove all sources of odor, but this is not always possible. Sometimes, pressure spraying home and contents with deodorant solvents can help to hide odors until they dissipate naturally. SERVPRO restorers can return to the property at a later date to ensure all odor issues have been eliminated.

 Mold

Microbial growth occurs when microbes- fungi, bacteria, or viruses- germinate in ideal conditions of temperature, moisture, and humidity. These microscopic organisms reside beneath floor-boards, inside fabrics, and behind wall cavities but present no real issue to the homeowner until they come into contact with moisture. With the right conditions, fungi spores can proliferate into large colonies and cause mold damage in your Marlborough home.

In the restoration service, we use the term remediating rather than restoring for microbial growth. Mold spores are a natural part of the home environment, so eliminating them altogether is not an option. What SERVPRO can do, is remove large colonies and prevent them from growing back by using a range of biocides treatments, cleaning agents, antimicrobial base-paints as well as mechanical machinery like negative air pressure units.

Preventative measures are valuable in controlling microbial growth. However, failure to address the source of the issue means mold keeps returning to your Marlborough home. Since moisture is the delineating factor in microbial growth, the solution to remediating mold issues is to thoroughly dry the affected area and shut off the moisture at the source. SERVPRO restoration services incorporate air-movers, drying mats and dehumidification equipment into mold remediation services to ensure the structure is thoroughly dried and mold problems do not come back.

 Water

When water enters your property, it does two things. First of all, bringing microbes already present into your home environment, and secondly loosening any pre-existing microbial infestations that may otherwise remain benign. This process makes dealing with water damage in your Marlborough home a time-sensitive issue. The longer water resides in a property, the higher the chances are of conditions deteriorating into a grey or black water emergency.

Our restoration services are available to the Marlborough community via our twenty four hour emergency call-line. One of the first tasks a SERVPRO water restoration technician conducts is trace water migration. Since water moves from wet to dry, the immediately apparent issues do not tell the whole story. Depending on the amount of time that has passed, water may have entered wall-cavities, penetrated subfloor, or begun producing microbial growth issues.

SERVPRO equips our Marlborough-based water restoration technicians (WRT) with advanced water removal equipment to assist them. Drying mats cover a large surface area and are comprised of medical grade tube channels for water to travel into. The central hub is vacuum assisted drawing moisture from inside hard or wooden floor surfaces. By applying drying mats to tiles or other challenging to remove flooring, SERVPRO can retrieve moisture from areas that could otherwise become hotbeds for microbial growth and mold activity.

Property damages are incredibly stressful and emotional experiences for a homeowner. SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord offers premium restoration services for water, mold, storm or fire-related damages.

Call our specialists any time 24/7 we are ready to fight the mold damage in your home. We have the right equipment for any job big or small.

Finding and Remediating Attic Mold in Your Concord Home

While it occurs most commonly throughout the winter months, attic mold can happen in your Concord home any time of the year. With so many homeowners never using their attic space or checking on its condition regularly, this is a problem that can quickly get out of control without professional intervention. Unfortunately, many of these same homeowners do not recognize a mold problem until it has begun to affect the floors below the attic and in dire need of immediate remediation.

While you might not have a good idea of when mold in the attic of your Concord home could occur, damage to your home’s roof is often to blame. These vulnerabilities are particularly exploited in freezing temperatures when thinning insulation can allow hot spots to occur on your roof and melt snow when the temperature is still well below freezing. The result is flash freezing, ice damming, and damage to the shingles of your roof which can allow snowmelt to create a damp environment of your attic.

When our SERVPRO team gets notified of mold growth in your home, we can arrive quickly with the personnel and equipment to make a difference. Our IICRC certified remediation technicians can contain the colonization to prevent further spreading throughout your home while we get started on the removal of the growth.

When we address mold growth occurring in the attic of your home, we also have to identify the penetration points for moisture coming through the roof. Moisture detection and thermal imagery can help determine where these hot spots are and direct our contracting division where reconstruction or repairs must occur to prevent further damage in the immediate future.

While regular inspections of your attic space might help to prevent widespread mold colonization in this area, most homeowners do not recognize a problem until it requires our experienced approach to resolve. Give our SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord remediation specialists a call anytime that you need us at (978) 486-9868.

The Risks of a Wet Basement in Your Marlborough Home

Many Marlborough homeowners battle wet conditions in areas of their property. Better understanding the threat to a wet basement can help you appreciate the wise choice of getting our professionals to help you find a solution.

Our SERVPRO professionals can respond quickly through our 24-hour response team, but steps can get taken before this to help reduce the possibility of fungal growth.

A chief focus of our SERVPRO professionals is locating the source of the moisture in the lower level of your property and reducing its impact on the area. While our advanced equipment like air movers and dehumidifiers can eliminate much of the dampness and present moisture, identifying the source of this problem is critical to keeping the area dry once we complete the work. There are many solutions from adding in a sump pump to patching portions of the block wall to reinforce against water penetration.

Ultimately, you are in good hands when you trust in the highly trained SERVPRO technicians we dispatch to your address. Our team undergoes extensive training to obtain water restoration and mold remediation certifications from the industry standard-setting IICRC. Marlborough Properties, Freezing Pipes, and SERVPRO Advice

Frozen Pipes in Marlborough? Call SERVPRO for Water Loss and Repair

Protecting Plumbing in Your Marlborough Home from Freezing

With the winter season already upon the Marlborough area, many homeowners still do not have the adequate insulation and protection necessary for the plumbing network in their house. By leaving vulnerable points, your plumbing becomes susceptible to instances of freezing. This phenomenon can overly stress the pipes and joints throughout the network, causing fractures, breaks, and bursts.

While many homeowners have to contend with water damage from frozen pipes in their Marlborough home year after year, there are precautionary measures that can get taken to prevent this occurrence. A convenient method for protecting your property and its plumbing is through a thorough inspection of the lines for vulnerabilities to elemental influence. For example, ensuring that exposed pipe in the basement of your home is appropriately coated with insulation material to keep it above the freezing threshold at all times.

Another precautionary measure that you can take to prevent your need for restoration services that our SERVPRO professionals can provide is to allow slow water flow throughout extreme temperature drops. When the temperatures during the day or evening fall far below the freezing mark, allowing a faucet or two to persistently drip can cause enough water flow to the fixtures to prevent a frozen expansion that bursts pipes.

Our SERVPRO professionals are ready for whatever situation threatens your property by offering efficient extraction strategies and thorough drying efforts. We can locate the source of the damage with our leak detection equipment and remove the immediate drywall or material in front of this point to gain access for repairs to the damaged pipe. Our moisture detection tools can help identify lingering moisture during the drying phase to ensure that no dampness gets permitted to affect your property, its structural elements, or the occupants of the house. This process helps to prevent the growth of mold, especially inside wall cavities.

While you might not think of freezing temperatures as a dire threat to your home, uninsulated or poorly insulated pipes in your plumbing system could fall victim to rapid expansion that causes bursts. No matter how a water emergency happens, our SERVPRO of Marlboro / Concord rapid response team can help. Give us a call anytime at (978) 486-9868.
